Ebrima Jarra

Ebrima, is a multi-award winner, a practicing Soil Scientist, Food System Expert and Policy Negotiator. He is an erudite professional with a Double Master's Degree in Soil Science and Sustainable Development, a BSc in Microbiology and an Advanced Diploma in Agriculture and Natural Sciences.

For the past decade, Ebrima has led various research projects and collaborated with the government of the Gambia to transform various national policies on land use and food system transformation and with the African Union to develop the new Food System Framework for Africa (CAADP Kampala Declaration 2025-2036). Additionally, through “The Soil Solution" (NGO), he is leading a Pan-African initiative (Africa Soil Strength Programme) aimed at restoring degraded lands and building resilience and capacity of local communities through the local structures in Africa, particularly the Africa South of the Sahara.

In teamwork, he is the perfect team player, who leads with compassion, dedication and honesty, while influencing the rest of the team to thrive for results.
